Christmas currywurst

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 sausages, of your choice
  • 250 ml ketchup
  • ½ tsp gingerbread spice, maybe more
  • some curry powder
  • possibly Tabasco
  • Fat for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Currywurst meets Christmas

Brown the sausages on all sides until cooked through. Meanwhile, let the ketchup reduce slightly and season to taste with gingerbread spice and curry powder. To serve, slice the sausages and spread the sauce on top. I expect many of you to react with “eww… how can anyone eat that?” when reading this, but the individual ingredients in gingerbread spice are perfectly normal spices used year-round. It’s the combination that makes it so Christmassy. If you like currywurst and gingerbread spice, you should give it a try. I’m sure some of you will be pleasantly surprised.
