Christmas Jam >>

The perfect christmas jam >> recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 8 Oranges / oranges
  • 8 Apricots dried soft
  • 1 Carambola
  • 8 cl Amaretto liqueur
  • 0,75 packet Christmas flavor from Dr. Oetker or gingerbread spice
  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 3 Star anise
  • 500 g Preserving sugar 2: 1
  1. First of all, a huge thank you to Monika (Cookies) for the great suggestion of the “Exotic Christmas jam”. I just changed and added something.
  2. 3 Peel and fillet oranges. Catch the juice at the same time. Squeeze the rest of the oranges. It should add up to about 750 ml. Wash the carambola and cut into thin slices, halve them again. Halve the soft apricots once and also cut into thin slices.
  3. Mix the broken cinnamon, star anise, amaretto liqueur, Christmas aroma and the preserving sugar in a saucepan with the fruits and juice. Bring everything to the boil while stirring and let it boil gently for 6 minutes. Always stir – risk of boiling over.
  4. Take out the cinnamon stick and star anise. Pour hot jam into twist-off glasses that have been rinsed with hot water. Close it immediately and turn it upside down for about 10 minutes. I always put a spoon in the glass when filling it to prevent the glasses from cracking. Sufficient for 5 glasses and a jam bowl to enjoy right away 😉
