- 250 ml milk
- 90 g sugar
- ½ cube of yeast or 1 packet of dry yeast
- 500 g flour
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tbsp cardamom
- 1 egg(s)

Finnish Christmas rolls; simple yeast pastries that are a must for every Finn
Warm the milk to room temperature, add the sugar, and stir in the yeast. Place the flour in a bowl and mix with the yeast milk, salt, cardamom, and egg. Knead the dough into a yeast dough. Let the dough rise for about 1 hour. Knead again, then form round rolls (pulla) and cover and let rise again on a baking sheet. Brush with egg, sprinkle with the sugar and cinnamon mixture, and then bake at 220°C for 15-20 minutes on the middle rack. Enjoy!
