Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 225 ml water
  • 115 g butter
  • 140 g sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 150 g flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • Oil for frying
  • cinnamon sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Place the water, butter, sugar, and salt in a saucepan and melt over medium heat, stirring constantly. Add the flour and stir until the dough becomes stiff. Then remove from the heat. Beat the eggs with the vanilla sugar until frothy. Stir in the batter until smooth. Fill the batter into a pastry bag. Heat the oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Press the dough into the oil in approximately 10 cm long strands. Once they rise to the surface, wait about 15 seconds, remove the pastry, and drain on kitchen paper. Roll the churros in a mixture of 1/3 cinnamon and 2/3 sugar.
