Chutney – Relish made from green tomatoes

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g tomatoes, green, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper(s), green, chopped
  • 5 small chili peppers, whole(!)
  • 4 tbsp vinegar (wine vinegar)
  • 100 g sugar (brown or white rock candy)
  • 3 carnations
  • Salt and pepper, as needed
  • Ginger, as needed

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Combine all ingredients in a pot and simmer gently for about 30-45 minutes. You can also puree it and then simmer it, but leave the chili peppers whole, otherwise it will be incredibly hot. Pour into jars while still hot.
