a delicious snack

Cut the ciabatta open like a bread roll and spread the bottom side generously with pesto. If you don’t have basil pesto, you can also use wild garlic pesto. In this case, use a little less, as it is very spicy. If you don’t have that either, simply add a little olive oil and drizzle it over the ciabatta. Then slice the mozzarella and tomato. Place the lettuce on the bottom half of the ciabatta. Then alternate the tomato and mozzarella slices. Then add basil. Now for the top half of the ciabatta: First, drizzle it with olive oil (1 1/2 tablespoons, or more/less depending on your taste). Next, take the garlic and grate it onto the ciabatta. This adds a nice flavor. If you like, you can sprinkle some finely chopped garlic on the tomatoes. Then fold the two halves together. If you’re not a garlic fan, it tastes delicious even without garlic. It’s best served fresh, and otherwise, keep it refrigerated. Feel free to vary it a bit; it’s sure to taste great with other toppings, too. The ingredient quantities are only approximate, so you can always use more or less.
