Coarse bratwurst in mustard and cream sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 8 pieces of bratwurst, coarse
  • 500 ml cream
  • ½ jar mustard
  • Sugar
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Paprika powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

First, brush the coarse sausages with mustard on all sides. Then sear the sausages until crispy. Once the sausages are nicely seared on all sides, remove them from the pan and cut into bite-sized pieces. Return them to the pan and continue to sear briefly. Then add the cream, reduce, and season with cayenne pepper, paprika, and sugar. This dish can be enhanced with chili peppers, onions, and other spices if desired. I serve it with pasta, but it’s also delicious with potatoes.
