Cookies: Cat Eyes

The perfect cookies: cat eyes recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 250 g Butter
  • 125 g Sugar
  • 300 g Wheat flour type 550
  • 100 g Ground almonds
  • 10 g Cocoa powder slightly de-oiled
  • 200 g Kiwi jam – alternatively apple jelly + green food color
  1. Make a batter out of butter, sugar, flour, almonds and cocoa. (Kneading works best with your hands.)
  2. Form small balls out of the dough – it doesn’t need to be refrigerated – and use a wooden spoon to make holes in the balls. Dip the style in flour over and over again so that no dough gets stuck.
  3. Bake them for about 10-15 minutes at 180 degrees.
  4. In the meantime, heat the jam.
  5. Immediately after baking, pour the liquid jam into the wells and leave to dry overnight.
  6. Then hide! 😉
