Cookies with Smarties

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 300 g sugar
  • 40 g beet syrup
  • 200 g margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 380 g flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 250 g sweets (Smarties or M&Ms)

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

In a mixing bowl, mix the sugar and beet syrup, first with a hand mixer and then with your fingers, until no lumps remain. Stir in the margarine. Add the eggs and mix everything well. Mix the flour with the baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Add to the margarine mixture and mix everything into a soft dough. Briefly mix in the Smarties or M&Ms. Scoop out the dough in portions, shape them into balls, and place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper (about 8 cm apart). Bake in a preheated oven at 160°C for about 15 minutes (until the edges are light brown). Let cool on the baking sheet. Please do not replace the baking soda with baking powder!
