Cranberry-Apple-Orange Jam

Spread the love

Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 500 g cranberries, fresh
  • 700 g apples, sour
  • 5 organic oranges
  • 1 lemon(s)
  • 1 kg gelling sugar 1:1

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 4 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 34 minutes

Wash and drain the cranberries, picking out any damaged berries. Peel the apples, core them, and cut them into small pieces. Squeeze the lemon and drizzle the juice over the apples. Use a zester to slice about 1 tablespoon of orange peel. Place the cranberries and apple pieces in a saucepan and mix with the preserving sugar. Fillet 3 oranges and add them to the saucepan with the reserved juice. Squeeze the juice of the remaining 2 oranges and add it as well. Let the fruit and sugar mixture stand for about 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally. Bring the mixture to a boil and cook according to the instructions on the preserving sugar packet. Add the orange zest. If you don’t like it chunky, you can purée all or part of the jam after cooking, then add the zest afterwards. Pour the hot jam into prepared jars and seal tightly.
