The perfect crawl with apple recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

Baked Apple Cream:

  • 5 Pc. Apples
  • 1 Pc. Vanilla pod
  • 50 g Butter
  • 200 g Brown sugar
  • 1 Pr Cinnamon
  • 3 tbsp Apple juice
  • 250 g Mascarpone
  • 250 g Lowfat quark
  • 100 g Amarettini almond biscuits

Donut batter:

  • 2 packet Lard
  • 4 Pc. Eggs
  • 250 g Quark
  • 250 g Flour
  • 150 g Sugar
  • 1 packet Baking powder
  • 1 packet Vanilla sugar
  • 1 Pr Salt

For decoration:

  • Advocaat

Baked Apple Cream:

  1. Peel the apples and cut into small pieces. Halve the vanilla pod and scrape out one half. Set up a saucepan and let the butter melt in it.
  2. Add sugar, vanilla pulp and cinnamon and let caramelize. Then add the apples and lightly caramelize as well. Deglaze with apple juice and simmer for about 5 minutes. Then take the apples out again and let the sauce simmer for another 5 minutes, so that a thicker brew is created. Remove the brew from the stove, stir in the apples again and set aside.
  3. Mix the mascarpone, quark, brown sugar and the other half of the vanilla pod in a bowl to form a smooth cream. Then lightly crumble the amarettini.
  4. Take 5 small glasses and layer the dessert. First the apples, then the amarettini and then the cream. Repeat the whole thing, so that a delicious layered dessert is created. Chill the jars in the refrigerator.

Donuts:

  1. Heat the lard in the deep fryer to 170 degrees. Mix the eggs, quark, flour, sugar, baking powder, vanilla sugar and a pinch of salt to a smooth batter.
  2. As soon as the deep fryer is at the right temperature, pick up the batter with a spoon and let it slide slowly into the hot fat. It is important to always take the same amount so that the donuts are relatively equally sized and cooked.
  3. When the donuts are golden yellow, drain them on paper towels.

Serving:

  1. Place two donuts on each plate with a glass of baked apple cream. Dust them with powdered sugar and decorate with eggnog to taste.
