Cream fruit with meringue

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 600 g cream
  • 2 tsp powdered sugar
  • 30 g meringue(s)
  • 300 g berries of your choice (frozen)
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 60 g almond(s), sliced

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 15 minutes

Eifel Mountains

Whip the cream with the powdered sugar until stiff. Roughly chop the meringues – leave them in the packaging and hit them a few times with a rolling pin. Fold them into the cream and pour the mixture into a shallow dish. Spread the frozen berries on top. Heat a small pan and melt 2 tablespoons of sugar. Gently brown the flaked almonds in it. Sprinkle the almonds over the berries while they’re still hot. Let the dessert stand at room temperature (in the refrigerator in summer) for a good 2 hours before serving.
