Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 onion(s), very finely diced
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 300 ml meat broth, strong
  • 200 ml cream
  • 1 tsp, strained yeast extract (e.g. Marmite)
  • 1 pinch(s) pepper, white
  • some cornstarch
  • n. B. Spice(s) and other ingredients of your choice, e.g. garlic, salt, mustard, fried onions, curry, herbs, mushrooms

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Sauté the diced onions in butter or pan juices, if available, until softened. Briefly fry the tomato paste, then deglaze with the meat broth and cream and simmer for a while. Add the pepper and yeast extract and mix well. Finally, thicken to your liking with the cornstarch dissolved in a little liquid. Season to taste.
