Croutons in the microwave

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 3 slice(s) white bread, or toast
  • some oil or butter
  • n. B. spice(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 8 minutes; Total time approx. 13 minutes

Cut white bread into cubes and place in a microwave container that can withstand high heat (e.g. the Tupperware Ultras). Add butter or oil and seasoning and place in the microwave in batches. I use 600 watts. It’s important to do it in batches, so take it out and shake it every now and then, because the only thing you have to be careful of is that the bottoms get really brown quickly. You can’t see anything from the top, and the bottoms are already burnt. So check and shake every two minutes or so. I do these two minutes four times! They’re really quick to make as a soup garnish or salad topping.
