- 200 g butter or margarine
- 150 g sugar
- 1 egg(s)
- 1 egg yolk
- 350 g flour
- 2 tbsp lemon(s) – peel or orange peel

Combine butter (or margarine), sugar, egg, and egg yolk in a bowl and beat until fluffy. Mix in the lemon or orange zest, sift in the flour, and knead everything into a smooth dough. The dough shouldn’t be too stiff. Line a baking sheet with baking paper and fill a cookie cutter with the dough, using the star-shaped cookie cutter. Press the cookies onto the sheet and bake in a preheated oven at approximately 180°C for approximately 10-12 minutes. This dough makes approximately 2 baking sheets. Tip: After cooling, glaze with your choice of icing. To keep the cookies nice and soft, store in a cool, airy place.
