Spinach with walnuts Georgian style

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g spinach, frozen, possibly chopped
  • 200 g onion(s)
  • 200 g walnuts
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 6 stalks of coriander
  • 3 sprigs of parsley
  • 2 tbsp vinegar (apple or wine vinegar)
  • salt and pepper
  • little water

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Spinach – Mkhali

Thaw the spinach. Cook it in a saucepan with a little water for about 10 minutes. Place the walnuts, garlic, coriander, onions, and vinegar in a blender and puree until smooth. Stir the mixture into the spinach and season with salt and pepper. Refrigerate for at least one hour before serving. Can be eaten as a side dish or as an appetizer with white bread.
