Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g butter
  • 600 g flour
  • 400 g sugar
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 packets of baking powder
  • 2 bars of chocolate (block chocolate)
  • 400 g sugar
  • 250 g butter
  • 500 ml milk
  • 3 packs of desiccated coconut

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Coconut cubes, makes about 24 pieces

Combine all the ingredients for the batter in a bowl and mix together. Spread the batter onto a greased baking sheet and bake at 160°C (325°F) until light brown. Watch and do the toothpick test! Let the finished cake cool and then cut into cubes. For the icing, bring all the ingredients to a boil in a saucepan and simmer until creamy but not too thick. Let cool slightly. Dip the cubes into the icing and then roll them in desiccated coconut. It’s a very sticky process, so I always wear disposable gloves. I always need 3-4 bags of desiccated coconut, as they gradually lose their attractiveness due to the icing. I always put one bag in a bowl first, and when the desiccated coconut becomes unsightly, I add the next bag, and so on.
