a recipe from Croatia

Blend the sugar and egg yolks until creamy. Gradually add the water. Then, in the same way, add the oil. Mix the flour and baking powder and pass through a fine sieve. Add half of the flour-baking powder mixture to the batter. Beat the egg whites until stiff. Alternately fold the beaten egg whites and the flour-baking powder mixture into the batter. Butter and flour a rectangular dish (e.g., 30 cm x 30 cm). Spread the batter on top. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for approx. 20-25 minutes. Allow the finished batter to cool. For the chocolate mixture, combine the milk, sugar, chocolate bar, cocoa powder, and butter in a saucepan and simmer until thick. Cut the cooled dough into rectangular pieces (5 cm x 5 cm or your preferred size). Dip into the chocolate sauce and then roll in the desiccated coconut on all sides.
