Currant liqueur

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 3 handfuls of currants, black
  • 200 g brown rock sugar
  • 1 bottle of schnapps (Doppelkorn)

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Thoroughly clean a sufficiently large bottle and then fill it 1/3 full with the rinsed berries. Now add 3 cm of brown rock sugar (also called sugar candy). Fill the bottle to the brim with the Doppelkorn schnapps, seal tightly, and store in a dark place for about 6 weeks. Turn the bottle occasionally and shake gently. After this time, filter the liqueur and pour it into another bottle, tasting it to see if it’s sweet enough. If not, add a little more rock sugar to the new bottle. Tip: Make the “old” berries again as described.
