Curry Matjes Salad with Jacket Potatoes

The perfect curry matjes salad with jacket potatoes recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 600 g Waxy potatoes
  • 1 Tart apples
  • 1 Fresh shallot
  • 2 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 150 g Salad cream
  • 0,5 tsp Mild curry powder
  • Salt and pepper
  • 300 g Herring fillets
  1. Scrub the potatoes and cook covered in salted water for 25-30 minutes. Drain and allow to evaporate.
  2. Peel the apples in half, remove the core and cut into thin slices. Peel the shallot and cut into thin rings. Mix the apples, shallots, lemon juice, salad cream and curry powder, season with salt and pepper.
  3. Cut the matjes fillets into small pieces and mix with the cream of the salad. Peel the potatoes and serve with the herringbone salad.
