Dad's best cevapcici

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced beef
  • 500 g minced pork
  • some salt
  • some pepper
  • some marjoram
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 150 ml meat broth
  • 1 egg(s)
  • possibly Tabasco

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

To make the cevapcici finer, either pass the minced meat through a sieve when buying it or put it through a meat grinder at home. Then combine all the ingredients and knead thoroughly. Spice it up with Tabasco sauce if desired. I personally use 5 drops. The more meat broth you add, the juicier the cevapcici will be. I always use 150 ml. Form the minced meat mixture into “sausages” about twice the thickness of a finger. In a preheated pan, fry the cevapcici over medium heat on each side until golden brown. If you’re planning a larger batch, preheat the oven to 50 degrees Celsius (122 degrees Fahrenheit) so you can keep the cooked cevapcici warm without them drying out.
