Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 500 g wheat flour, type 450 or 550
- 1 pinch(s) of sugar
- 1 tbsp, leveled salt
- 1 bag(s) of dry yeast
- 0.38 liters of milk, lukewarm
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tbsp milk
- Poppy seeds, for sprinkling
- Fat, for the shape
- Flour , for the shape
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 25 minutes
Place the flour in a bowl and mix with the dried yeast. Gradually stir in the milk, salt, and sugar. The dough should be very soft. Knead until bubbly. Cover and let rise in a not too warm place. Grease a large loaf pan with butter and dust with flour. Knead the dough again well and fill it with the dough. Cover and let rest in the pan for another 15 minutes. Brush with the egg yolk mixed with milk, sprinkle with poppy seeds if desired, and bake on the middle rack of a preheated oven (200°C, fan oven 170°C) for about 40 minutes.
