Delicious Christmas cake from the tray

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g flour
  • 250 g butter
  • 300 g sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 bag of gingerbread spice
  • 200 ml milk, lukewarm
  • 250 g syrup (e.g. sugar beet syrup or dark cake syrup)
  • 2 bags of lemon peel (Citroback or Finesse)
  • ½ tsp ammonium bicarbonate
  • ½ bag(s) of baking powder
  • 100 g almond flakes
  • 150 g powdered sugar
  • 5 tbsp lemon juice, freshly squeezed or direct juice
  • Grease for the tray
  • Flour for the baking sheet

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Mix all ingredients—except the almonds, powdered sugar, and lemon juice—to form a batter. Preheat the oven to 160°C (top/bottom heat). Grease the baking sheet and dust with a little flour. Place the batter on the baking sheet. Spread the almonds over the batter and bake for about 30 minutes. After baking, make a lemon glaze from the powdered sugar and lemon juice and brush it over the cake.
