Delicious puff pastry variation

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 package of puff pastry, fresh from the refrigerated section
  • 1 pack of marzipan
  • e.g. Nutella
  • e.g. sprinkles or other sugar decorations

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Puff pastry decorated with sweets

Knead the marzipan slightly by hand while it’s still warm, then roll it flat between two sheets of baking paper using a rolling pin. Remove the fresh puff pastry from the package and roll it out on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Place the marzipan on the puff pastry, pressing it down a little if necessary. Preheat the oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat). Spread the Nutella over the marzipan to cover it completely and sprinkle the sugar decorations on top. I personally have a sweet tooth and prefer a little too much to sprinkle on. Now roll up the dough and place it in the center of the baking sheet. Finally, place the baking sheet on the middle rack of the oven. I occasionally set the oven to fan for about 3 minutes to make the top nice and crispy, but it’s not necessary.
