Djuvec Rice – Frustration-free
The perfect djuvec rice – frustration-free recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 1 piece Onion
- 1 toe Garlic
- 2 tbsp Tomato paste
- 1,5 cups Meat or vegetable broth
- 5 tbsp Ajvar
- 1 Can Peas (drained weight 130 gr.) Or peas with carrots
- 1 Cup Rice
- 1 tbsp Oil
- Parsley
- Peel the onion and dice finely. Peel the garlic clove. Drain the peas.
- Sauté the onions in a saucepan with a little oil, add the garlic and tomato paste and sauté briefly. Deglaze with the broth, add the ajvar and the vegetables, stir.
- When everything is boiling, sprinkle the rice. Lid on it! Set the stove very small (gas: smallest burner, smallest flame).
- Let the rice soak for about 20 minutes until it has absorbed the liquid. Stir once. – A bouquet of parsley looks good.
