Doctor Names Miracle Foods That Help Prevent Anxiety

Brazil nuts are great for fighting anxiety and stress.

Anxiety, worry, and aggression can be prevented by a regular balanced diet high in vegetables, fruits, legumes, whole grains, and lean protein, not by medication.

Oleg Shvets, a general practitioner, gastroenterologist, and nutritionist, named foods that support the nervous system and give a sense of happiness.

“Herring, salmon, mackerel, sardines, and trout are rich in Omega-3. These fatty acids have a strong link to cognitive function as well as mental health. Recent studies have shown that if a person consumes too much Omega-6 and not enough Omega-3 fatty acids, the risk of developing mood disorders, including anxiety, increases. You need to eat at least two servings of oily fish, 200 grams per week,” the nutritionist said.

The second miracle food for anxiety and stress is Brazil nuts. It contains a lot of selenium, which improves mood and reduces inflammation. Selenium is also an antioxidant that helps prevent cell damage and cancer. It is enough to eat only three or four nuts a day.

The third product is eggs. A source of vitamin D and all essential amino acids necessary for the growth and development of the body. Eggs also contain the amino acid tryptophan, which promotes the formation of serotonin, which helps improve mood, sleep, and memory, and relieve anxiety.
