Dragon's Bean Strudel

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 125 ml water
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 250 g flour
  • 400 g beans, fresh or from the can
  • 80 g semolina
  • 150 g onion(s)
  • 2 bread rolls, sliced
  • 80 g bacon
  • 40 g lard
  • 1 pinch of pepper
  • some marjoram
  • 250 g sour cream
  • some fat
  • salt water

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Make a smooth dough from water, salt, oil, and flour. Soak the beans overnight or use drained canned beans. Cook in salted water, drain, and season with salt, pepper, and marjoram. Lightly toast the semolina in lard, add water, and let it swell. Brown the finely diced bacon, diced onion, and breadcrumbs in hot fat. Add everything to the beans, mix well, and spread on the stretched-out strudel dough. Drizzle with sour cream, roll up, and bake in the oven at 200°C until golden brown.
