Dubbe Cake

The perfect dubbe cake recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1,5 kg Potatoes
  • 3 Onions
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 Splash Tabasco
  • Salt pepper
  • 200 g Slices of bacon
  1. Peel and grate the potatoes. Let stand for a few minutes. Finely grate the onions and garlic.
  2. Squeeze the potatoes and let the potato water rest for a few minutes until the potato starch has settled. Drain the liquid and add the starch back to the potatoes.
  3. Mix the grated potatoes, onions, garlic, eggs and the spices.
  4. Brush a baking dish with oil and line it with slices of bacon. Pour in the potato mixture and drizzle a little oil over it. Place in the preheated oven (200 degrees) and bake for about 1.5 hours.
  5. This includes applesauce.
