Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 8 dumplings, fresh or from the day before (potato or bread dumplings)
- 120 g Parma ham or Serrano
- 300 ml cream
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 bunch parsley, finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove(s)
- 200 g cheese, grated (Gouda or Emmental)
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Ideal for dumplings from the day before
Rub a baking dish with the garlic clove. Cut the dumplings into approximately 1 cm thick slices and line the baking dish with them. Pour the cream into a bowl, season with pepper and salt, stir in 2 egg yolks, and add the parsley. Cut approximately 90 g of ham into small cubes and add to the bowl, tearing the ham apart a little so the cubes don’t stick together. Cut the remaining ham into strips and set aside. Stir the cream thoroughly to ensure everything is well combined. Finally, add the grated cheese and stir again. Pour the sauce evenly over the dumplings, arrange the ham strips on top, and bake the casserole in the oven at 180°C for approximately 30 minutes, until the top is golden brown.
