Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 40 minutes
Preheat the oven to 180°C (top/bottom heat). Meanwhile, spread the almond slivers on a baking sheet, sprinkle the powdered sugar over them using a tea strainer, and place the baking sheet on the middle shelf of the preheated oven for a short time until the almonds turn golden. Keep an eye on them and remove them from the oven in good time. Cream the softened butter until fluffy. Gradually add the salt, sugar, vanilla sugar, and eggs and mix everything with a mixer. Gradually stir in the flour, baking powder, and milk. Finally, add the dash of brandy, the almonds, and the chopped dark chocolate. Dust the buttered loaf pan with flour and shake out any excess flour. Pour in the batter and smooth it down. Bake in the preheated oven on the middle rack for about 80 minutes. Once cooled, garnish with the dark chocolate glaze.
