Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 800 g wheat flour, type 550
- 400 g water, cold
- 20 g yeast, fresh
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp sugar
- 2 tbsp oil
- 150 g cream cheese
- Black cumin, sesame, sunflower seeds as desired
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 3 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 3 hours 35 minutes
Dissolve the yeast, salt, sugar, and oil in the water (as it comes from the tap). Add the cream cheese and mix. Add the flour and knead thoroughly. Put the dough in a bowl, cover with a lid, and let it stand at room temperature for 2 to 3 hours. Shape the dough into a ball, cut it in half, then shape the two halves into balls, halve them again, and then halve them again. This way you get relatively even pieces without having to weigh them too much. Place the dough pieces on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Brush or spray with water and decorate with seeds as desired. Cover with a tea towel and leave to stand while the oven heats up. Bake at 225°C for about 20 minutes. In an emergency you can put the tray in a cold oven, heat the oven to 225°C, and bake for 5 minutes longer if necessary.
