Elanda's vegetable side dish: zucchini

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 medium-sized zucchini (about 200g – 250g)
  • 1 tsp vegetable broth, instant
  • some pepper, from the mill
  • some savory, fresh or dried
  • possibly salt
  • possibly coriander

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

gently steamed zucchini

This side dish is steamed in a sieve basket. The vitamins and minerals are better preserved this way. The flavor is also much more intense. Place the sieve basket in a pot and add enough water to just reach the sieve basket. Remove the sieve basket, cover the pot, place it on the stove and heat on high. Wash the zucchini thoroughly and cut into slices about 2mm thick. Place the slices on the sieve basket, sprinkle with bouillon powder and season with pepper. As soon as the water starts to boil, reduce the heat and place the sieve basket with the zucchini in the water. Cover and steam for about 5-10 minutes until al dente or soft. Remove the pot from the heat and remove the sieve basket. Carefully place the zucchini in a bowl, season with savory and pour over a little cooking water. Season to taste with salt, pepper and coriander.
