Elderberry liqueur

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 3 liters of juice
  • 1 kg sugar
  • 10 packs of vanilla sugar
  • 1 ½ bottles of bitter almond flavoring
  • 1 ½ liters of rum, 54%

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 minute; Total time approx. 1 minute

Everyone probably knows how to pick elderberries, trim the twigs, rinse them briefly, and then bring them to a boil in a little water. After the “soup” has simmered for about 5 minutes, it is poured through a sieve lined with a fine-mesh cloth. The still-hot juice is measured, the sugar dissolved in it, and when it is only lukewarm, the bitter almonds are added, and a little later, the rum. Then the whole thing needs to stand overnight to cool slightly, and the little liqueur is ready. Now either bottle it and let it stand, or enjoy it with good friends. Enjoy! (From experience, I can say that if the liqueur has been aged for more than 3 years, it will have an almost oily consistency.)
