Instructions

with sausage meat and herbs

Mix the ground meat with 2 eggs, breadcrumbs, onions, salt, and pepper to form a dough. Cut open the sausages and remove the sausage meat. Mix the sausage meat with 1 egg, half of the mixed herbs, pepper, and grated nutmeg. Spread the meat mixture into a rectangle on a breadcrumbed surface. Spread the sausage meat evenly on top and roll up the whole thing, starting from the long side. Brush the roll with a little oil and place it seam-down in an oiled roasting pan. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 50-60 minutes. For the sauce, pour the meat juices into a saucepan, melt the cream cheese in it, add the broth and white wine, bring to a boil, and season with salt, pepper, nutmeg, and the remaining herbs. Season to taste. Carefully cut the meatloaf into nice slices and serve with the sauce. Serve with wide ribbon noodles or spaetzle, green salad and chilled white wine.
