Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 350 g flour
- 250 g butter or margarine, soft
- 400 g sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 egg(s)
- 1 egg yolk
- 400 g walnuts
- 100 g whipped cream
- 2 tbsp honey
Instructions
Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes
Knead together the flour, fat, 200g sugar, salt, and egg, and chill for about 30 minutes. Roughly chop the nuts (except for 12 halves). Caramelize 200g sugar while stirring until golden yellow, stir in the chopped nuts, and deglaze with (except for 1 teaspoon) of cream. Add the honey, simmer for about 1 minute, and let cool. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of about 3mm. Cut out two circles (26cm in diameter each). Place in a springform pan (26cm in diameter) lined with baking paper. Cut out four 20cm long strips (6cm wide). Place them on the inside of the springform pan, allowing them to overhang. Pour in the nut cream and place the remaining dough sheet on top. Fold over the edge and press down with a fork. Whisk the egg yolk and 1 teaspoon of cream, then spread 2/3 of the mixture over the cake. Bake in a preheated oven (electric oven 175°C / fan oven 150°C) for 45-50 minutes. Cut out stars or other shapes from the remaining dough and brush with the egg and cream mixture. Return to the oven for about 35 minutes. Decorate the cake with stars or other shapes.
