Feta-bacon rolls with tomato sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 300 g feta cheese
  • 24 slices of bacon
  • 500 g tomatoes
  • 2 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 150g mozzarella
  • 200 ml cream
  • 100 ml milk
  • 100 g processed cheese
  • some salt and pepper
  • some chili powder
  • some olive oil
  • oregano
  • basil
  • some mustard
  • some balsamic vinegar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

Cut the feta into 24 equal pieces, wrap each one in a slice of bacon, and lightly fry in a pan. Remove the rolls from the pan and place them in an ovenproof dish. Then dice the onions and garlic and fry them in a little oil. Chop the tomatoes and add them to the pan with the onions and garlic, and fry briefly. Deglaze with the cream and milk. Chop the mozzarella and add it to the pan along with the processed cheese. Bring to a boil, season with salt, pepper, mustard, and balsamic vinegar, and pour over the rolls. Then scatter the oregano and basil on top. Place in a preheated oven at 200°C for 15 minutes. Serve with potato wedges.
