Feta Breaded in Honey and Fig Mustard Sauce
The perfect feta breaded in honey and fig mustard sauce recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 2 Packages Feta
- 3 piece Eggs
- 4 tbsp Olive oil
- 2 tsp Pepper from the grinder
- 15 tbsp Sifted flour
- 15 tbsp Breadcrumbs
- 1 Glass Fig mustard
- 4 tbsp Honey
- The combination as a starter is light and would be a wonderful prelude to a Mediterranean menu.
- 3 Prepare the plate as for schnitzel pan. Plate 1: sifted flour Plate 2: breadcrumbs (made ingeniously from old rolls) Plate 3: eggs, beaten with pepper, salt is not needed, as the feta actually contains enough salt.
- Cut the feta into two cubes each.
- Heat the olive oil in the pan. Caution: Do not fry the breaded feta too hot, medium to low heat is sufficient.
- Now pull the feta cubes through the flour, then the egg and finally through the breadcrumbs.
- Now gently fry the prepared feta cubes until golden brown on all sides.
- Let “degrease” on kitchen paper after bathing in olive oil.
- The cubes are served with a honey and fig mustard sauce. Simply mix the honey with the fig mustard. Thyme honey would be ideal. Kali orexi
