Filled Cheese and Onion Schnitzel

The perfect filled cheese and onion schnitzel recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 3 Fresh onions
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 3 tbsp Rapeseed oil
  • 4 Pork schnitzel
  • Salt
  • Black pepper from the mill
  • 2 Eggs
  • 4 Discs Cooked ham
  • 100 g Grated Gouda
  • 40 g Flour
  • 100 g Cornflakes
  1. Peel and finely dice the onions. Heat 1 tbsp butter in a pan. Sauté the onion cubes in it and remove. Rinse the meat and pat dry. Place in cling film and pat flat. Salt and pepper the schnitzel. Cover the schnitzel with 1 slice of boiled ham, spread the onion cubes on top, sprinkle with grated cheese.
  2. Fold the schnitzel together and secure with wooden skewers. Crumble the corn flakes. Turn the schnitzel first in the flour, then in the egg and corn flake crumbs. Let the rapeseed oil get hot and fry the schnitzel until golden brown.
  3. I served it with fried potatoes and carrot salad. Enjoy your meal!
