Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g fish fillet(s)
  • 1 roll
  • some butter or margarine
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 50 g butter or margarine
  • some salt
  • some mustard
  • 25 g breadcrumbs
  • 80 g fat, for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Recycling leftovers

Finely chop the fish meat or mince it with the soaked, well-squeezed bread roll. Stir in the diced onion, which has been sautéed in the fat, the melted fat, the egg, and mustard and salt to taste. Once the mixture is smooth, form it into dumplings, coat them in breadcrumbs, and fry in the hot fat for about 6-8 minutes until golden brown. Serve the fish cakes with potato salad or boiled potatoes and vegetables.
