quick dessert that makes an impression

Core, peel, and slice the apple. Melt the butter in a pan. Lightly fry the apple slices on one side, then turn them over and drizzle with the honey. Continue frying briefly. Meanwhile, warm the Calvados in a metal ladle over a hotplate. Remove the pan from the heat, light the Calvados, and pour it over the apples. Once the flames have died down, remove the apple slices from the pan. Return the pan to the heat and add a dash of cream, allowing it to caramelize slightly. Serve the apple slices with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Drizzle the caramelized liquid from the pan over the apples and, if desired, dust with a pinch of cinnamon. A small dollop of cream with vanilla sugar also works well.
