Flambéed bananas on vanilla ice cream in strawberry sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 20 g almond flakes
  • 15 g butter
  • 5 g sugar
  • 500 g strawberries, fresh or frozen
  • 100 ml orange juice
  • 2 tbsp Grand Marnier
  • 3 packets of vanilla sugar
  • 20 g sugar
  • 4 bananas
  • 4 scoops of ice cream (vanilla ice cream)
  • 4 tbsp cognac

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 7 minutes; Total time approx. 22 minutes

Caramelize the almond flakes in a pan with a little butter and sugar. Bring the sugar, vanilla sugar, orange juice, and strawberries to a boil. Purée the mixture. Add the Grand Marnier and pour everything into a pan. Peel the bananas and halve them lengthwise. Heat them with the strawberry sauce until gently simmering. Pour the cognac over the bananas and light the pan. Serve the bananas and strawberry sauce with a scoop of vanilla ice cream each. Sprinkle with the caramelized almond flakes.
