Fresh grain porridge

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 100 g grain, e.g. multi-grain mix, coarsely ground
  • 300 g water
  • 2 tbsp yogurt, curd, kefir or buttermilk as desired
  • 1 handful of fruit, according to season

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

So my morning hour has gold

Coarsely grind the grains in a blender. Add water and mix. Heat the porridge for 5 minutes at below 100°C, stirring continuously, and let it stand for another 10 minutes. Stir in yogurt, quark, kefir, or buttermilk as desired, and add diced fruit depending on the season. It will keep you fit and full until lunchtime. Suitable grains include wheat, spelt, rye, oats, barley, buckwheat, millet, or even just alkaline grains.
