Fresh Hugo tea

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 15 leaves of mint (Hugo-), or other
  • some syrup (elderflower)
  • some syrup (lemon) or lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp, levelled sugar
  • Water

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Rest time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Pick fresh mint, rinse briefly, and place in a teacup. Pour the elderflower syrup over the mint, covering the bottom of the cup by about 1/2 cm. Then add up to 1 teaspoon of lemon syrup and the sugar. Stir briefly, then pour over boiling water. Let the tea steep for about 10 minutes, then remove the leaves. The tea also tastes good cold as an iced tea with ice cubes, or as a non-alcoholic version of a Hugo.
