Hello! I’m Hermann (or how small things can become big things). I’ll be accompanying you for the next six days. If you take good care of me, I’ll have three offshoots, which you can then give away to your friends. I don’t like metal. Please stir me with a wooden spoon (for a walk). I definitely prefer a plastic bowl covered with a cloth as a home. I can only survive at room temperature. Please don’t put me in the fridge! Please follow the instructions exactly: Put me in a big bowl, I’m fermenting and need space. Day 1: Today we need to get to know each other. You should just take me for a walk. Day 2: Feed me 200g of sugar, then take me for another walk so I can digest the food. Day 3: Today I’m thirsty. I’d like 200ml of milk. Don’t forget to go for a walk! Day 4: Today you feed me 200g of flour and take me for another walk. Day 5: Today is my birthday. Now I’m really hungry. Give me 200g of sugar, 200ml of milk, and 200g of flour. Then stir me into a smooth dough and divide me into 4 equal parts. Put three of them in plastic bowls and give them to three loved ones you care about. Copy these instructions so they can take care of my offshoots! Day 6: Today we say goodbye. It was a wonderful time, and you took good care of me. As a farewell, feed me 200g of flour, 3 eggs, 1.5 tsp of baking powder, and 25ml of sunflower oil. Give me a brisk walk until my dough is smooth. If you like, you can add a pinch of cinnamon, nuts, or almonds (maximum 250g). You can also add raisins or chocolate (grated or shredded). Apples (inside, on top, and underneath) also go well with me. Now fill me into a baking pan and bake at 180°C for 40-50 minutes. Yours, Hermann
