Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Bread with cheese and onions
First peel the onions and dice them together with the cheese. Then mix the flour with the onions, cheese and salt in a large bowl. Finely crumble the yeast over the dough, pour in the warm water and knead into a dough (add a little more water or flour if necessary, depending on the consistency). Then either shape the dough into a loaf, place it on a baking tray and let it rise for about 1 hour or put the dough into one large or two small greased and floured springform pans and let it rise for about 1 hour. Of course you can also put the dough into a normal bread pan or form rolls on them. Then bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 10 minutes, then reduce the heat to 180°C and bake for about another 60 minutes until the bread has a light brown crust. Note: The baking time depends heavily on how you shaped the bread—whether you’re making one large loaf or several small ones—so check frequently and reduce the baking time if necessary. This bread is super simple, delicious, and tastes best simply spread with a little butter. Tip: You can, of course, add herbs or other spices to your liking, but we like the bread just as it is.
