Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 160 g rowanberries, frozen
  • 700 ml Doppelkorn 38%
  • 50 g brown rock sugar
  • 60 g white rock sugar
  • 2 slices of lemon

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest period approx. 45 days 12 hours 15 minutes; Total time approx. 45 days 12 hours 30 minutes

Rowan berries are not poisonous, but they can cause stomach upset. This liqueur is safe to drink! I put the rowan berries in the freezer for a day, just the fruit, no stems or anything like that. Harvest time was October, as I picked them before the first frost. Place the still-frozen rowan berries in a container with the other ingredients and store in a dark place for 6-8 weeks. Strain the liqueur through a sieve; filtering is not necessary.
