Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 50 g fresh ginger
  • 75 g butter
  • 200 g brown sugar
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pack flavoring (lemon sugar)
  • 300 g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 200 g powdered sugar
  • lemon juice

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Grandma’s recipe, makes about 60 pieces

Peel the ginger and grate it very finely. Cream the butter, sugar, egg, lemon sugar, and ginger until fluffy. Knead in the flour and baking powder. Form into a ball and chill for 30 minutes. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut out hearts. Place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake at 180°C (fan-assisted, preheated) for 7-9 minutes. Sift the icing sugar and mix with the lemon juice. Brush the hearts with the sugar.
