Ginger Syrup My Way

The perfect ginger syrup my way recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 Bit Ginger, organic
  • 0,5 liter Filtered water (normal)

  • 250 g Thyme honey

  1. Cut 6 slices from one piece of ginger and dice them. Pour into a tea strainer. Put on filtered water (normal) and bring to a boil in a pot or kettle. Then pour the hot water over the ginger cubes in the sieve, which is hanging over a teapot.
  2. Let it steep for a quarter of an hour and pull out the sieve. Cool the ginger tea so that it is still slightly lukewarm.

  1. Then take the thyme honey and stir into the lukewarm ginger tea. Fill the whole thing in or several bottles depending on the size. Let it cool down completely. This ginger syrup can be kept in the refrigerator for about 4 weeks. If you want a little longer, add 5 tablespoons of alcohol (40%).
  2. This extends the whole thing to 8 weeks!
