Ginger tea

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 20 g ginger root
  • 2 liters of water
  • 3 tbsp sugar, honey or other sweetener

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 5 minutes

delicious hot and cold

Boil 2 liters of water. Meanwhile, carefully peel the ginger and slice it very thinly to achieve the largest surface area possible. The surface area determines the amount of active ingredients released, and this gives the tea a particularly intense flavor. Add the ginger to the boiling water and simmer over low heat for at least ten minutes. For a stronger and spicier tea, you can simmer the ginger for twenty minutes or longer. After letting it cool briefly, add sugar, honey, or other sweetener. For colds, drink it as hot as possible. I strain the tea through a tea strainer and then leave the filter in the tea because I like the spiciness it gradually releases as it steeps. Ginger tea is said to help with nausea, malaise, and minor cold symptoms, and to actively support recovery.
