Ginoschka's mulled gin

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 liters of apple juice
  • 300 ml gin
  • 3 orange(s), organic, untreated
  • 5 slices of lemon
  • some star anise
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • 1 tsp, sautéed cloves

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Pour the apple juice into a saucepan and heat over low heat. Add all the spices. Squeeze two oranges and add the juice to the pan. Add some orange zest (the very thin strips of the outermost peel). Slice the last orange and add it. Slice the lemon and add it. Simmer for a few minutes. Finally, add the gin. Do not boil it again. Tip: You can use an inexpensive gin; you’ll barely taste it because of all the spices.
